In 2005, 200 men & women volunteered to take part in a study to test whether or not eating cheese before going to be was beneficial. 72% reported better sleep and 67% could remember their (often psychedelic) dreams. The researchers theorized that better dreams (no nightmares were reported) might be due to tryptophan present in the cheese. What was weird, is that certain cheeses seemed to engender very specific kinds of dreams:

Stillton: Vivid, outlandish dreams (soldiers fighting with kittens, for example, or a vegetarian crocodile upset that it could not eat children).

Cheddar: Dreams related to celebrities! (Bring on the DWTS professional dancers :))

Chesire: Seems to be boring, unremarkable deams

Red  Leicester: Nostalgic dreams evoking favorite images of childhood.

Lancashire: Avoid this cheese as researchers report it caused dreams about work!  Eeek!

Is there a cheese which stops band leaders having nightmares about gigs? :(

Those are all English cheeses.  How about:

Brie (do you dream of surrendering?)
American (do you have bland meaningless dreams?)
Wisconsin Cheddar (do you dream of backwoods?)
Mozzarella (do you dream of gondolas?)

Inquiring minds want to know... :-P

Well, actually, with American, you dream of being grilled...
Wisconsin Cheddar brings dreams of Lambeau Field...

Oh, yes...I forgot to mention this was the British Cheese Board.

Given the relatively small sampling of cheese and people, I'm not sure the Cheese Board is interested in carrying out more tests.

Check this out,

Here's some sweet Philly soul, but not much employment for trombonists..
