My wife and I have been traveling all over England for the last two weeks. Right now in London, by Earl's Court and off tomorrow back to Italy.

I went to a Lebanese/Polish restaurant for lunch. This sounds a bit of an odd combination, but it seemed as if the husband was Lebanese and his wife Polish, hence two menus - similar ingredients but prepared in two completely different ways. I opted for something from the Polish menu - char-grilled tenderloin with salad and mashed potato. The salad was interesting - mostly carrot mixed with chickpea - as was the mash, which was mixed with chives amongst other things. Good food but, as always, there was just too much of it for me.

I just made (and in the process of eating) a 5 egg omelet. I just chopped some fresh herbs and a little cheese. I had a little trouble getting the flip down...
It didn't turn out to be the perfect omelet, but it still tastes wonderful!

Heck yeah I ate all 5 eggs. I'm a growing boy, plus I usually eat one big meal then graze for the rest of the day.

I'm impressed. Plus you have to support all of that trombone playing - it takes a lot of energy.

Alex - have you ever watched Alton Brown on the Food Network? He did a great omelette episode.
Once I learned the technique, and realized omelettes aren't really flipped in the pan, life became much easier. The flip actually happens on the exchange from the pan to the plate -- and furthermore, for five eggs, you would probably want to use a bigger pan to have more surface are cooking the omelette (a 10-inch pan is great for a 3-egg omelette).
Anywany, great clip here:

Au contraire, I always flip my omelet in the pan. I don't do thirds either, 50 % give or take. Otherwise, I have no disagreement with AB.
tonite, three egg omelet with 2 slices of l/f cheddar cheese and mushrooms with 2 pieces of bacon on the side.
I really like "Good Eats".
my nomination for the weirdest way to make an omelet

Don't get me wrong - once and awhile I flip mine too - I like a greasy spoon style omelette, loaded with some sausage and gooey cheese. In that case, the French slide onto the plate is not the way to go!
