The swiss army trombone...
I have a Mt Vernon Bach 50 that I have cut the bell off to make it a screw bell, added Kanstul CR valves with a custom forward wrap, a lightweight brass slide (silver plated), and I use a Larry Minick L mouthpiece and Shires 2.5 leadpipe. I've also assembled a King 1480 bell that interchanges with the Bach. With the smaller tuning slide and bell taper it's a cool small bass, with a tenor mouthpiece it's a big tenor (or close enough).
Psuedo bass sackbut. Bach 36 slide, something close to a 1 1/2G made from a Kelly, and a small bell I made . Bore and sound are good, but I'm lacking in the "trigger range"...for now ; ) |
