Hey,

just asking whats the history of Kings 100th Annniversary Silver Sonic models made in 1993. Is there something special compared to regular Silversonic or what?

I have King 3B SS anniversary model.

As said, I think they should do some more marketing. As I believe they are know compemsating their efforts on marching brass. Have heard and read that they got some big deals on that area but never the less they make gorgeaus and inventing bones too!

Sent email to them asking for their hand rests and bulletbraces  allmost a month ago and havent got a reply yet.

And thats bad when knowing that I bought bassbone from them couple of months ago

Bought Kanstuls 1662i couple of months ago and I have to admit thats the best bassbone I have ever played. Ive had vintage conns and kings and etc. and I was not looking anything like that. Only reason why I tried one was I had heard only good on CR-valves and their TIS and I wasn't disappointed any of them.

Have tried it with the leadpipes it came and found the GR-leadpipe just right for me.

The bone is awesome in sound and beautiful.

Don't see the 1662 or 1662i as reproductions, it has TIS and bronze bell. 1662i has independent valves. Try and found out.

As  said, give us some more info. All depends on the age, condition and most of all is it playable. If its all beaten up the offer was quite right, if its playable and neat condition he was trying to rob you

Yes.

I live in Finland and can recommend Thomann if you know what you are buying.

As a finnish player have to say that this works. Have played and heard Finlandia. But theres something that this arragement needs. A bit too hasty and that first part uppers and lowers needs to be more breath taking.

But those were my 0, 0002 as a finnish man.

17  Teaching & Learning / Practice Room / Re: Tone on Trombone on: Aug 25, 2013, 10:33PM
Was comparing two different mouthpieces with my Conn 24H. Those were Bach 7C and Schilke 47B. Was doin my trills and whills changing the mouthpiece.

Suddenly my wife came to my room and said that that was better and I should take it. She doesnt play anything.I asked why ans she said that it sounded more the trombone sound that she was used to hear. She said that the other was too bright and not trombone-like sound. The mouthpiece I was playin was Bachs 7C.

I was really surprises about what she said because she hasnt ever really liked horns or anything compared to tho them. So I chose the Schilkes mp because what does she know about trombones sound..

19  Horns, Gear, and Equipment / Instruments / Re: Getzens valvetrombone on: Aug 24, 2013, 08:22AM
Sadly it doesnt have the slide section with it. Only valves. Where to buy the slide section
20  Horns, Gear, and Equipment / Instruments / Re: Getzens valvetrombone on: Aug 23, 2013, 08:16PM
Just curious what bore is it and the series, Eterne or smthing else. Havent received it yet. Just bough it with out seing it from a fellow trombonist with 500.

Have conns 24H ballroom '35 and kings 4B and 6B. Thought that valves would be fun to play. The amount of alcohol doesnt effect so much on slide positions :)
