Hi all.

I'm trying hard to find some horn charts for Rick James music.  Specifically "You and I".

Anyone know a publisher that might have this?

Funk goes beyond Rick James.

How about Wild Cherry?  https://www.scribd.com/document/339001816/Play-That-Funky-Music-3-Horns-Rhythm-pdf

Never look at the conductor. You just encourage them.

Have you noticed, some folk never stick around to help tidy up after practice?

Transcription is the easy answer.  But My transcription skills and time to do it are virtually nonexistant.

I'm having an incredibly tough time hearing all the parts in it.  And the band isn't in to Wild cherry.

Did Wild Cherry do anything besides Play That Funky Music? I don't think much.

Much better to go with Ohio Players, early Earth Wind & Fire, Tower of Power kind of stuff.

So, listening to that tune, I hear:

Female vocals
Rick James singing
bass
guitar
drumset
trumpet
sax
trombone

Seems like a pretty standard setup for that style. Sometimes the easy answer is to go to whoever is managing the band's assets and ask them, but sometimes bands like this simply worked out charts from memory and never wrote them down.

Slightly different version here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDMVV-MrIl8

here electric keys are apparent, although not real present in the mix. And, I'm not sure why the cameraman absolutely avoids whoever that is on the far right.  Don't know What is that? Marimba?? Don't know
