Our local community orchestra is again performing an original 'Beauty & the Beast' with the Orlando Ballet. Our conductor told us that it may be the only performance composed by, choreographed by and (lead) danced by one person.

Anyways, at last rehearsal our conductor directed me (on bass trombone) and the tubas to play 'as loud and obnoxious as you can'. The 3 of us are the only ones playing on "1" of a big waltz tune that's lively, not sweet. I've been playing a long time and this is the first time I've gotten that kind of freedom. I'll keep it tasteful though. :)

Id be tempted to make a point that the conductor does not want the likes of a low brass section playing as loud as they can let alone obnoxiously  Evil

Unless hes one of us. A brother of the slide.

We don't just embrace insanity here, we feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
