Around 1967 my school had an assembly featuring Vic Hyde. Mr. Hyde first played trombone and trumpet, and then went on to play 2 trumpets at once, then 3 trumpets, and finally 4 bugles simultaneously. He was sponsored by King Musical Instruments. Here's a link to an article about him.

Does anyone have any more information or pictures of Vic Hyde?

Regarding Vic Hyde, I also saw him perform at our high school in northern Indiana around that same time. As a student photographer, I photographed him with his set of trumpets. I'm going to be going through some old neg files soon. If I run across his picture, I'll try to get a copy to you. I'm not a musician, although I certainly appreciate what musicians go through for their art. It's truly incredible that Vic Hyde made such an impression on us. It's even more incredible that all these years later, I was able to remember his name and Google it to run across your post! I remember him as an unbelievably energetic and passionate performer. I guess that's why the memory stuck. I just joined this forum to tell you that! I'll try to get in touch regarding the picture.

I found a few others through a Google search for "Vic Hyde." Use quotes on his name, you'll get better results. He had a really cool car, too.

Yes,
But could he do it on a pogo stick????
There was a guy here in the upper Northwest named Wally Pickal (Hutchenson Minnesota???) who could play two trumpets while bouncing on a pogo stick, he could play three trumpets but did have to use a special mouthpiece.
He appeared on the Tonight show with Carson and left Carson on the floor.
He was semi-famous around here when I was but a tot
