This is not legal.  A University may make sheet music available to its students but as soon as it is revealed to the general public it's copyright violation.

Robinsjanis, I know you are on a limited budget and it's tough to find music in Latvia, but you really need to understand that the stuff you want was somebody's hard work and they expect to be paid for it.

I know of course that composers earn money for that. I have not discovered our Latvian Academy of Music library.

If those sites are "free", then why do we have to add items to a cart and then why do we have to jump through some registration hoops? When I have to give up information, I don't regard the product as truly being "free".

Here are some truly free sheet music downloads:

No Registration Required

Are there others where no registration nor any homage to be paid is required?

While it does require registration, there is a cool website/app called chromatik that offers a large selection of free sheet music. An eclectic collection of repertoire that you can access using the web or the app on iPad and iPhone. I've found it pretty useful. Check it out here: http://bit.ly/1pgnnoA

While it might be perfectly okay, but I am leery of a website advocated by someone in his very first post (especially with a shortened URL that I can't tell where it goes to).  Exercise caution!

No offense intended to the poster.

May have been posted before.

From Switzerland, so downloads tend to take a bit of time.

Never look at the conductor. You just encourage them.

Have you noticed, some folk never stick around to help tidy up after practice?
