I had a Quarter Pounder with cheese in St. Maarten. Status Quo. Was with a family of five, so we simplified the order.

Really?  They got some of the best food in the islands IN St Maarten (and it's da' bomb on the french side!) Ya' gotta ditch the fast food in the islands, mon!

Being a fan of Poutine, I always hit up the canadian bar in St. Maarten and have all the canadian beer I can drink.  I don't know if it;s the most child friendly place though.

Not about McDonald's specifically but one of the best burgers I've ever eaten came from a Hardee's in Cairo, Egypt. Probably the second best meal I ate there, after a fresh-caught and whole-grilled fish when I visited Alexandria for a night.

I'm jealous it would be cool if they could sell more of a variety because some of these just seem so delicious Pant

I forgot to mention that McDonalds in Canada has vinegar as a condiment for fries. Just white vinegar, but it's part of our British heritage. It's not available in the US.

I went to a Red Lobster in Wisconsin once, and asked for vinegar. Nope. I thought it was safe in a seafood restaurant.

For kicks, I thought of taking the McDonalds vinegar package, with the McD logo, to the counter at a US McDonalds, and asking: "Can I please have another vinegar?"  Evil

Are you certain it's not malt vinegar?

McD's in germany was always trotting out something new, egg rolls, tacquitos, all kinds of stuff.  In general these items were very good when judged against the genre of random snack bar foods.

No it's white vinegar at McD's. I know the difference.

When I was much younger, only true fish and chip shops had malt vineger, and it is an acquired taste. Nowadays, most restaurants provide both.

If you go to a Chinese noodle shop here, they provide red wine vinegar.

Fast food outside the US intrigues me. I haven't been to a McDicks for food in well over a decade, but I may just try something from Italy or Germany.

As a public service to TTF, I was in Berlin last week and I stepped into McDonald's to take this picture. I didn't get the entire menu, but they were heavily advertising McCafe(tm).

I assume they had beer, but I didn't check.

If I had taken my picture of Checkpoint Charlie from the correct angle, I could have had a McDonald's in the picture. "Hi, and welcome to freedom. Now, have a Big Mac(tm)."

I saw many more Burger Kings than I did McDs.

Latest line from Macca's in Australia is the New Serious Lamb Burger:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NFP0TKPpJ8&NR=1&feature=endscreen

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf3qO-FSDHk

The Kiwis have got it also. I will ignore the tilt at we Aussies:

I would give it a try but everything from Macca's makes me seriously ill. No kidding. Possibly something to do with the preservatives they use. Don't know

When I worked in Malaysia and Indonesia, we would occasionally have American fast food just to remind ourselves how damn good the local food was.

At McDonald's, there was Sriracha hot chili sauce right beside the ketchup- just pump out all you'd like! Delicious with fries.

Also, steamed rice w/Sriracha as an option to fries. Same at KFC.

In New Mexico and southern Colorado, roasted chopped green chile is an option on any burger at McD's or Wendy's.

I've eaten one. It's a good imitation of a proper burger, and their best burger yet: real bread, raw onion, beetroot, fried egg, tomato, as well as the lamb.

They also sell an angus burger has which has a premium beef pattie but still has the standard McD marshmellow-type bun.

This week: Bergen, Norway.

After a delightful meal the night before of:

Carpaccio of Whale
Scallop
Reindeer Steak
Creme Caramel

I had to grab a filet-o-fish before observing a brass band rehearsal. 79 NOK = $14.04 USD

Norway takes Visa everywhere including taxis, so I used it to pay and converted no cash.

In the Dubai airport McDonald's (the Emirates terminal was where I was at), they sold the "Mega Mac" which was the contents of 2 big macs in the bun-layout of one. It was incredible, and after 3 weeks of pretty much just Chinese food, it was heavenly! If I lost any weight in China, it went straight back on ;-)

Nope, the Norwegians have plenty of whales for eating. I'm not sure of the type, but they are not endangered. They freed Willie, but he became dinner. It is a point of contention with many countries.

I saw nothing on the menu at McDonalds that looked out of the ordinary.
