My son's NOS Conn 88 came in today and it's a fine sounding instrument.  This was an instrument that sat in dealer inventory for the last 5 years.  I notice some corrosion on some of the case hardware that I'm planning to attack ( top handle and a couple of corners).  Can someone tell me what the case hardware finish is suppose to be, I'm guesing  nickle but would like to know before I start in on it.

In all honesty, I wouldn't worry about it. It's usually nickel or chrome. Due to the shape of the hardware it's VERY hard to  do a good cleaning job of the entire piece.

I would use a gentle cleaner like wright's brass polish or maybe chrome polish and stay away from the high-powered stuff like Noxon.
