I use Photobucket and then paste the link to my pic in a post and give it the "img" tags.

What type of file are you trying to upload?

How big is it (in MB and in pixel size for an image)?

Where are you trying to upload it?

I just uploaded two pictures to my Gallery to use in a post today.

There are a lot of reasons for that message.

OK.  You can't upload pictures into a post.  You can only reference pictures with a URL.

You can load a picture into your Gallery if it is something like 1024x768 or 640x480 pixels (I forget which).  That's what I did for the two images I put in the post.  I could then use the URL from the Gallery to reference between the IMG tags.

Others will use a free hosting site like Photobucket.  I guess Flickr would work as well.  As long as the reference inside the IMG tags is an online location you should be OK.

I have upload pictures straight to a post in the past, what happened recently to that capability?

Dunno.  In the last 12 years I have been a member of this Forum I never directly uploaded a picture into a post.  I was able to upload to the Gallery and cite from there or I was able to reference a picture I found online with a URL address.  A picture from your PC won't work.

I think Cubes is referring to the "Attach file" function under the "Additional options" menu on the post editor.  Attempting to use this function produces the message described above.  The Forum staff does not have the capability to increase the disk allocated to such attachments.  Only the system administrator responsible for the host on which the Forum runs can resolve the problem.

Geezer has it figured out. Get a Photobucket account. Not too much more hassle and the pictures are there forever.
