Very sad today to hear of the death of Cilla Black, iconic British pop singer from the 1960s and later TV hostess of renown. She was of that generation of Brits (mine Eeek!), along with the Beatles (from the same city), Cliff Richards etc who killed off the wonderful Traditional Jazz Boom we were enjoying in the early Sixties. But I forgave her a long time back because she was such a consummate professional, yet such a natural and loveable Scouse.

She covered several of Dionne Warwick's recordings of Bert Bacharach tunes and turned them into #1 hits in the UK, much to the disgust of Dionne. >:( In fact, Bert worked with her on some recordings, which upset Dionne even more.

May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay......forever young."
