Slide is making a rattling sound.  I clean it but it still does it... I thinking it is breaking apart inside, but I'm not sure... does anyone know? It is not the spit valve.. Thanks

Did you check if the slide lock is rattling?  (When you hear the rattle, just put your finger on the slide lock and see if the rattle stops.)

Rattling while playing or rattling while moving (or both)?

Apart from the slide lock, sometimes the rattle is a loose solder connection on a brace.  You may be able to find it by holding each slide brace in turn.  Another thing that could be loose is the water key.  Got a weak or broken spring?

If the slide lock ring is vibrating, put a little paraffin wax on the threads (tuning slide grease works also).  I take a candle and rub the bottom end on some of the threads to get a deposit of wax and then screw the ring back on.

Did your cleaning include running a snake brush through the slide crook?
I ask because I see that you teach.
With kids around, there could be almost anything in there.

An empty barrel makes the most noise.
