Anybody aware of tutorial video on how to do special effects on trombone used in jazz and contemporary music?

I don't mean standard articulations like gliss, trills, flutter tongue and alike.

More like multiphonics, half-valve effects (is that possible on rotary valves - I am not sure). Or anything of the kind. Possibly without the use of a mute or plunger.

Try a Youtube search on Phil Wilson and Paul the Trombonist - the former is a master of these effects and offers tips in a series of videos.

Not a tutorial, but look for anything by Albert Mangelsdorf.

I've got a book on lip multiphonics (also free on my blog). I don't have any videos up yet,  but will in the next few months on a variety of techniques. I'd be happy to chat in skype or such in the mean time if that would be helpful!

Stuart Dempster did an exhaustive book on the subject, The Modern Trombone: a Definition of its Idioms. Out of print, AFAIK. I have a copy of the book, but the "soundsheet" records that had recorded examples are sadly long gone.   Don't know

Jen Baker is a lesser-known multiphonics player who creates some interesting sonic effects: http://www.altobone.com/jen-baker-international-trombone-festival/
