Considering converting my dependent axials to an independent set up.

Techs - how much money does a job like that range from? Am I asking for trouble?

First----> I am not a tech, but I found myself in the opposite situation once.

Second---->  I solved this issue by posting an ad in the Classified section asking if anyone wanted to trade an independent set of valves for a dependent set of valves.  It took a few years of trying, but eventually I found someone was willing to trade.

Might be the easiest option.

Speaking with somebody right now about a trade. If it fails I may try again with someone else. Anyone interested can PM me.

Also, does anyone know if a Bach slide will fit onto and Edwards bass valve section?

Yes the slides fit.  Almost always perfectly fine, but there are some individual exceptions.

As making a dependent axial section requires the removal of some F attachment tubing, it is harder to reverse.  Swap or replace with an independent is easier.  What make is your dependent section?

Cheers,
Andy
