Leif

It was probably a Purely Magical Event !

Seriously, if you enter in some code such as

            [img]http://www.Example.jpg[/img]

the forum software will take a measure of your picture's size and will alter your code so that it now reads:

            [img width=400 height=500]http://www.Example.jpg[/img]   ( for example )

In the manual for SMF software they refer to this process as "Magic".

You ARE allowed to edit the code that you wrote, so just go take a peek at it.

If you highlight everthing in that file, Copy it, and then Paste it between the tags [code][/code], then we'll all be able to see it.

Also, if I  use Firefox as a browser, I will see nothing.

However, if I use Chrome, I will at least see the outline of a width x height box.

Either it's Magic or it's Bruce ! (BGutman)

It was Bruce.

What I did was to right-click on the square (missing image) and open the image in a new window.  Right click on the image in the new window and select "copy image address".  Go back to the original and put that between the IMG /IMG tags with the "bad" reference.

If   savio   was  using,   say,   Firefox,

he would not even have an empty square to look at.

He'd have  NOTHING  !

So   savio,  be advised that Bruce's explanation comes from

an individual who is normally using  the  Chrome  Browser.

And another thing, savio,

you put in your post an Emoticon which IS visible on Firefox,

but can't be seen/enjoyed on the Chrome !   ( Amazed )

( Your Avatar DOES work on Chrome !  )

I think the issue is that you're trying to embed content from hosting sites that aren't geared towards embeddable images. There are numerous websites intended for photo hosting sharing that generate the proper URL and code for you.

MrPillow,  I was following the Instructions given in the following post:

If you want to include a non-image attachment in a post you can upload it to some site like DropBox and then put the site's URL for the file in URL tags here.

I've read some of his other posts, and clearly, He  knows what he's doing !

(  Unlike myself.  )

MrPillow, regarding your Avatar,

that's  a really nicely arranged photo of you playing

peek-a-boo behind your F-valve.

Great Composition !

But I just can't stop myself from thinking of

Marilyn Manson's video "The Beautiful People" whenever I see it !

(  Bruce, do we have an emoticon that features a Braying Jack-Ass that I could place here ?  )

Well it all depends on what type of file you're trying to link to and how you want it displayed. What's the end game?

Maybe he wants to make Wally Pikal on a pogo stick with two trumpets his avatar.  I wish I could help, but I have had some problems with avatars.

I hope Richard fixes the problem with the image storage.  That would make it a lot easier for all of us.

I think MrPillow has no issues with his Avatar.

           (  And rightly so !  )

I was just telling him what I  thought of it.

And I thought that my description was worthy of some self-lampooning.

Hence the mostly retorical request for an image of a Braying Jack-Ass ! ! !

[  For insight into that request of  mine,  just  picture

Regis Philbin and his ever put-apon colleague Gelman.

          (  Producer  Michael Seth Gelman  )          ]

I feel that I must must apologize for over-advertising Wally's Tonight Show appearance in this video.

It is actually, here, only a few seconds long.

The lengthier studio appearance shown here is on the "Mike Douglas Show" with co-host Victor Borge.
     (  VICTOR BORGE ? ? ! ! ! )

At Wally's Funeral, I finally got to see the original tapes and this video is predominantly
NOT COMPOSED OF "THE TONIGHT SHOW".

(  And I'm now worried that I still  didn't put enough polish on my Tonight Show plackard !
     (  Johnny's  people can be so demanding ! )                                                                  )
